Senior Members’ Fellowship
Senior Citizens - St George's Indian Orthodox Church, London

St George's Indian Orthodox Church, London

The Senior Members’ Fellowship (SMF) was established in November 2013, following the recommendation of HG Dr. Mathews Mar Thimothios, who served as the Diocesan Metropolitan of UK at the time. Its formation was guided by several overarching aims. Firstly, the SMF seeks to strengthen, encourage, empower, and nurture the Senior Members of the Indian Orthodox Church (IOC). Additionally, it endeavors to promote fellowship and well-being among its members, fostering a sense of camaraderie and support within the community.

Furthermore, the SMF is dedicated to providing assistance and solidarity to its members in times of need, with a particular focus on those who may be experiencing loneliness, vulnerability, or bereavement. Spiritual growth is also a central focus, with the fellowship facilitating discussions on relevant topics aimed at deepening the spiritual understanding and practices of its members.

Lastly, the SMF aspires to serve as a source of inspiration and guidance for younger generations within the church, drawing upon the wisdom and experience of its senior members to enrich the lives of future leaders.
